This project reimagines an existing bungalow situated on a spacious suburban plot along New Road, Ferndown, transforming the property into a refined contemporary home while retaining a strong connection to its established surroundings. Located within a characterful avenue defined by a mixture of modern dwellings and sensitively remodelled bungalows, the proposal sought to modernise the appearance and functionality of the home in a way that felt both elegant and contextually appropriate.

The architectural approach focused on introducing clean contemporary detailing, improved spatial flow, and a more open relationship with the surrounding landscape. Internally, the layout was carefully reconfigured to create bright and expansive living spaces centred around an open-plan arrangement that encourages modern family living and entertaining. Generous openings to the rear frame views across the surrounding forestry, allowing natural light to move throughout the home while strengthening the connection between the interior spaces and the garden beyond.

A restrained and sophisticated material palette enhances the contemporary character of the property, balancing sleek finishes with softer natural textures to create a calm and cohesive atmosphere internally and externally. The design works harmoniously with the existing landscape, ensuring the dwelling sits comfortably within its scenic environment while establishing a clear architectural identity. Overall, the project delivers a carefully balanced transformation that combines modern living with a sensitive response to the character and greenery of its setting.
