Interior Design
Interiors designed with the building, by the same studio: materials, light, joinery and the details you touch every day.
LUSO Architecture designs interiors alongside the buildings they sit in. The practice has an interior designer in the studio, so decisions about kitchens, bathrooms, lighting and joinery are made while walls, windows and services can still move to suit them.
Our interiors follow the same principles as our buildings: light, proportion, natural materials and careful detail. The palette is calm and the detailing is quiet, so that a room is defined by its daylight and its materials. Interior design is offered as part of a new build or a renovation.

Interior Design: common questions
- Is interior design a separate appointment from the building design?
- It can be either. Most clients appoint us for both, because the interior and the structure are then designed as one piece of work. For interiors alone in an existing home, tell us about the house and we will say whether we can help.
- When should interior design start on a new build or renovation?
- Early, ideally alongside the concept design. Kitchen layouts, bathroom positions and lighting all affect where walls, drains and cables go, and they are cheap to change on a drawing and expensive to change on site.
- Can I see the interior before it is built?
- Yes. We produce interior CGIs and material boards so that finishes, colours and lighting can be judged together before orders are placed.
- Do you design kitchens and fitted furniture?
- Yes. We design kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes and other fitted joinery in detail, for specialist makers and suppliers to manufacture and install.
