Joao is the Founder and Director of LUSO Architecture (Former ArchiGold Design), with over 13 years’ experience delivering architectural projects across the high-end residential, retail, hotel, education, and listed building sectors. Working alongside his team, he specialises in creating thoughtful, design-led spaces that combine functionality, detail, and contemporary architecture.
The name “LUSO” carries layered meaning, derived from the Portuguese term associated with Portugal and its culture, referencing Lusitania, the ancient Roman province corresponding to modern-day Portugal. This subtle connection reflects the heritage and background of the studio’s director and quietly informs the identity of the practice.

Operating from studios in Ringwood and Canford Cliffs, the practice delivers bespoke residential projects across Dorset and Hampshire, from countryside homes to coastal developments.
