his project transforms an existing bungalow situated on a generous rural plot into a striking contemporary family home, carefully designed to respond to both its residential context and the surrounding natural landscape. Positioned along a quiet street characterised by modern dwellings and renovated bungalows, with the Lions Hill Nature Reserve forming a scenic backdrop, the proposal seeks to create a home that feels both distinctive and sensitive to its setting.

The architectural approach reinterprets the original bungalow through the introduction of bold pitched forms, expansive glazing, and a refined material palette that brings warmth and depth to the composition. Crisp render is paired with vertical timber cladding and anthracite-framed windows to create a clean contemporary aesthetic, while subtle detailing and balanced proportions ensure the building retains a sense of softness within the landscape. Large openings maximise natural light and establish strong visual connections to the surrounding greenery, reinforcing the relationship between the home and its rural environment.
